We have a vacancy for a Head of SEND and Inclusion, a Cleaner and 2 Higher Level Teaching Assistants.


Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

28.33 hours per week | 44 weeks per year

Point 9-17 Although pay point progression is not guaranteed, it may be reviewed annually with any increase depending on the school’s overall budget position as well as performance.

We are seeking to appoint two outstanding Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our committed and caring team. This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, skilled and highly motivated practitioners who are passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidates will work across a year group, supporting teaching and learning in two classes, delivering high-quality lessons during teacher absence and PPA cover, and providing targeted support for pupils where needed.

We are looking for professionals who:

  • have HLTA status or significant equivalent experience
  • can confidently deliver engaging lessons to whole classes
  • have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • demonstrate excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • are flexible, proactive and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • are committed to inclusion and supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEND and EAL
  • will actively support the Catholic ethos and values of the school

Cleaner

Salary: £12.85 an hour

Please note cleaners are required to work term time and school holidays.

Monday – Friday 3.00 – 5.30 in term time

Hours and days during school holiday time to be advised by Site Manager.

All holiday entitlement to be taken in school holiday periods. NO holidays in term time.

£12.85 per hour

We are seeking to appoint 1 Cleaner to join our friendly expanding school staff who will contribute to the smooth running of our school by ensuring high standards of cleaning.

We need someone who is flexible and hardworking who will take pride in their work.The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a full range of cleaning duties under the supervision of the Site Manager, for further details of the role please see the Job Description and Person Specification.

HEAD OF SEND & INCLUSION

The Governors of St Helen’s Catholic Primary School wish to appoint a Head of SEND (SENCo) with demonstrable experience as an excellent practitioner and teacher for this rewarding SENCO role.

We are seeking to appoint a strategic and outstanding practitioner, who is passionate about SEND and Inclusion.You will be SEN qualified and possess the vision and skills to work with the Senior Leadership Team in improving standards of teaching and learning for all children.You will play a central role in ensuring that every child with SEND receives the support they need to thrive.

We want our Head of SEND & Inclusion to:-

  • Be a qualified SENCo with strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for SEND and inclusion across the school
  • Teach and work directly with pupils with SEND, including those with complex needs in the SEND provision
  • Lead and manage a team of Inclusion Assistants, ensuring high‑quality training and effective deployment
  • Model and promote outstanding inclusive teaching practice for staff
  • Oversee SEND assessment, provision, EHCP processes and partnerships with external agencies, including SEND OPs
  • Lead and develop the school’s Thrive programme, and be willing to undertake Thrive Practitioner training in the future
  • Contribute actively to the Senior Management Team, school improvement and safeguarding
  • Demonstrate a collaborative, resilient and inclusive leadership style with high aspirations for all pupils
  • Have high aspirations for themselves and use resources, intellect, creativity, and innovation to be successful
  • Be passionately committed to safeguarding and the welfare and wellbeing of children and staff
