PARTNERSHIPS

  • The South East Essex Catholic Deanery Group – this involves 10 schools including 2 Secondary schools across 2 Local Authorities. We have agreed objectives for the group including: maintaining the religious character of our Catholic Schools, high standards of teaching and learning, support to improve key aspects of performance and cost effective collaboration.
  • The Central Southend Cluster Group – this involves 7 schools – 6 Primary and 1 Secondary – who have similar issues/similar communities. We have shared CPD and share staffing expertise. The main foci in our shared action plan are: Maths and EAL support.
  • SETSA/SCITT – This is the teaching school alliance in Southend. St. Helen’s joined this alliance so we could be involved in training teachers.
  • Other partnerships include: Music hub, sports hub and an EYFS hub

St Bernard’s / St Thomas More

We have developed a number of different partnerships with our Catholic Secondary schools. Some of our links are through Art, Sport, Music, transition Class 6 to 7, Literacy and More Able Maths. St Helen’s believes that these links help with the smooth transitions of children between primary and secondary and also, the share of expertise and knowledge.

Southend School Sports Partnership West

This link allows us to tap into sport expertise and the opportunity to compete in competitions between schools. Also, we are able to direct our talented children through this link which allows them to have further opportunities.
