Summer Reading Challenge

Take part in the Summer Reading Challenge this year! It’s all being done online at sillysquad.org.uk everyone can register and take part to unlock rewards, games, challenges, prizes and let everyone know what books they have been reading.

Southend Libraries are running weekly mini challenges to encourage children to keep their reading up.

They are:

13/7 Draw a book cover (real or imagined)

20/7 Create a comic strip

27/7 Make up a silly joke or trick

3/8 write a poem/rhyme/limerick

10/8 Silly story competition

17/8 Most interesting/silliest/surprising/disgusting fact

24/8 Create a villain/baddie

31/8 Reading in silly place

7/9 Draw a book cover

Children can send their entry to librarydevelopment@southend.gov.uk each week, there is a weekly prize to be won and each child that sends an entry is entered into a special prize draw at the end of September for Adventure Island wristbands.
