Really Big Sleep Out is a Really Big Success for HARP
On Friday night 33 students from Years 4, 5 and 6 spent the night camping out in school as part of The Really Big Sleep Out to raise money for HARP.
They arrived at school at 7 pm and enjoyed an evening around the fire in the nature area eating S'mores! For those of you that don't know what this is, it is a popular campfire treat consisting of a toasted marshmallow sandwiched between two biscuits. How delicious!
The children played a game of Eagle Eye and those that could keep their eyes open watched a DVD. Finally they settled on the floor, in the clothes they had arrived in and tried to sleep whilst Mr Gibson merrily snored the night away! I am reliably informed that next year he will be sleeping the other end of the school!
We want to say a huge thank you to all the children that took part in this challenge and Mrs Faulkner, Mrs Curtis, Mr Gibson and Mrs Miller, for giving up their soft beds and home comforts to understand a little of what it is like to be homeless. Between them and their friends and families they have raised over £900, which is a huge sum for one night! Well done everyone and thank you so much!
