We had the most amazing day at Tropical Wings, have a look at all the fascinating creatures we saw and held!
We have been learning about measuring in millimetres, centimetres, and metres by measuring our heads, waist and chests.
Class 2's New Town!
Inspired by their walk down Southend High Street earlier in the week, Class 2 have set about building their own new town! Take a look at all their wonderful buildings, it looks like some of your children might have moved out!
Class 2 have been busy looking at buildings in our local area and creating some fabulous buildings of their own!
We may have some architects of the future here!
We have been learning how to write instructions. So please take a look at our pictures, get your bread ready and see if your child can give you instructions in the correct order to make a delicious jam sandwich!

FUN AT THE BEACH!
We enjoyed a fabulous morning at the beach, paddling, playing in the sand and enjoying ice-creams! What a lovely way to finish our year together.
MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!
We have been enjoying playing games to help us learn all about money.
We were fortunate enough to be invited to The Cliff Pavilion to listen to a very funny story. As you can see we really enjoyed it!

ROLE PLAY NOVEMBER 2015

DIWALI 11TH NOVEMBER 2015
The children learnt about the first Diwali and the story of Rama and Sita. They designed and painted their own candles in celebration of ‘The Festival of Lights.’
CHILDREN IN NEED 13TH NOVEMBER 2015
The children thought about and reflected on those children that have less than themselves. We made cakes for the cake sale and also made posters whilst asking ourselves how we could be good neighbours.
Just before the half term break the children in year 2 were tested on their mental maths abilities.
After answering several questions each or as a table the children then had to walk the plank!
TREASURE MAPS AND PIRATE SHIPS
The children were finding grid references and co-ordinates on their friends treasure maps.
They were then playing their own version of Battleships called 'Pirates and Treasure'.
